Overview

The Rwamagana Level Two Teaching Hospital is a public Hospital located in Eastern Province, Rwamagana District, 60 km from Kigali. It was founded in 1949 as a dispensary for people who worked in mines. Since 1952 it became a public district hospital. It has the capacity of 220 beds and offers a variety of outpatient, inpatient services, and mentorship and oversight of health centers.

Rwamagana Level Two Teaching Hospital has 16 Health centers, 1 Dispensary of Nsinda Prison, 2 private clinics, and Rwamagana School of Nursing and Midwives (RSNM). Rwamagana Level Two Teaching Hospital has variable number of employees including Physicians (General practitioners and Specialists), Nurses and Midwives (A0, A1 and A2), Allied health professionals, Administrative professionals and Supports staff and Other technicians. It has a catchment area of 369,671.

OVERVIEW

Since May 14th,   2014, Rwamagana Level Two Teaching Hospital was upgraded to Provincial referral Hospital for all Eastern Province of Rwanda statement approved by Cabinet meeting. We offer specialized curative and preventive healthcare in different specialities of Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Surgery, Paediatrics, Gyneco-obstetrics and Internal Medicine. We are  a health open  research field  and we offer evidence based clerkship teaching of multidisciplinary health related fields including medical and post graduate trainees, specialized, general, hospital nursing,  midwives , lab technicians, and other paramedics trainees.
